Access control in 3D Product Configurator
The access control in VividWorks 3D Product Configurator is separate for the Planner and the Manager. The Planner has no access control and no access management and therefore the Planner must be placed under a page that manages access if the planner is under walled garden. Typically however, the planner is placed on the open internet available to any user.
Access control for the Manager
VividWorks 3D Product Configurator is based on role-based access management. This means that each user has a role and the role defines what activities the user can perform.
The roles currently defined, from more restricted access to less restricted access, are:
- User
- Tenant Admin
- Admin
User
As a user you can perform most every day activities, including asset management, conifugration management, product publishing, translations and so forth.
Tenant Admin
The Tenant Admin role is assigned typically to the tenant owners admin user who can perform all activities that a User can do, and on top of that manage Application level settings.
Admin
The Admin role is currently restricted to VividWorks employees only. The Admin role can perform both system wide and tenant level configurations and manage user access to tenants.
